Each time we come to Mass, we are invited to the table of Christ where He offers Himself to each one of us. He wants us to believe that He is truly present in His real Body and Blood when we receive Him. Yet, it is so difficult to believe in that. It is difficult for me, for you too, and I know that there are people who receive the Eucharist not believing at all, thinking that the Eucharist is only some kind of symbol. I often think that if I lived during the time when Jesus came to this earth and if I met Him, then I would have no doubts at all -- He is the Son of God. But would I? How many people met Him, talked to Him, witnessed His miracles, and listened to Him talk and yet didn’t believe Him and even rejected Him? Yes, at times it is very difficult to believe that Jesus is here in our midst. That’s why we need to continuously keep asking God to increase faith in each one of us. “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”
