Feast of St. Simon and Jude, Apostles

Writer's picture: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

Decisions -- we all make them all the time. At times we make right decisions, but at other times we regret them. And there are many small decisions like: what movie to watch tonight, or what to wear, or what to cook for dinner. But there are also decisions that will impact our future, our life, our relationships. Today I learn that I should not make any important decisions just out of emotions or some kind of impulse. I should take time, and most importantly ask God to help me make right decisions in my life. What did Jesus do before choosing His Twelve Apostles? We read today: “Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God. When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles.” If you are not sure what decision to make, especially when it comes to a very important one, make sure to wait, to think, and of course to pray to God asking Him to help you make the best decision.
