It is so good to be here, let us stay here forever! But no, you can’t stay forever because your mission is not over yet. You still need to go back to your routines, to your work, school, and all kinds of daily struggles. It is good to go away for a vacation just to relax, to rest and forget about those struggles, but those good moments go by fast, and now it’s time to go back. I think that Peter, James, and John had a similar experience. They’re on the high mountain with Jesus being transfigured. Such a wonderful moment! Peace, joy, a real experience of God’s presence. These were the things that they experienced, so no wonder they wanted to stay there. Why go back? Just let us build some tents so we can stay longer. But no, they had to go back to their earthly struggles. Jesus told them that there is a mission for them that they need to accomplish. We are just like those disciples, and there are moments that we feel the presence of God so strongly that we don’t want those moments to go away. But we all have our mission to accomplish here. We need to go back and make this world a better place.
