Yesterday in the gospel reading we heard the testimony given by John the Baptist about Jesus Christ. The gospel reading began with the following words: “This is the testimony of John.” And John testified that he is not the Christ, that he is not even worthy to untie His sandal straps. By his humble way of living and always pointing out Jesus, John gave the most beautiful testimony about Jesus. Today we hear the continuation of John’s testimony: “John testified further, saying, ‘I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky and remain upon him. I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.’” Today we should ask ourselves - what is my testimony to others about Jesus? We just celebrated the Nativity of Jesus who came to us, and now we are called just like John to testify about Him. Do you share your faith with others, do you pray for them, do you testify about Jesus by your holy way of living?
