We are constantly tempted to focus on those negative things that are happening around us, in our communities, in our country, and in the world. And unfortunately, there are many bad things happening, and there is evil in this world. However, that evil can’t make us blind to the presence of the Lord, who at the same time showers us with many blessings and still performs miracles in our midst. We Christians are a people of hope and a people of good news. And the good news is that even when evil is trying to attack us, making us think that God has forgotten about this world, we can’t let our world forget that God is real, that God is alive, and that God blesses each one of us each day. “They were exceedingly astonished, and they said: ‘He has done all things well. He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.’”
