If you love God, then do something about it. Prove your love. Don’t use only words. If you love God, then feed His sheep. It’s like in the conversation from today’s gospel reading between Jesus and Simon Peter. Jesus repeatedly asks Peter: “’Simon, son of John, do you love me?Simon Peter answered him, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ He said to him, ‘Tend my sheep.’” Jesus is not fully satisfied with only verbal affirmation of our love; Jesus wants the proof of that love. He is expecting us to act. When I pray, just like Simon Peter, I repeat often: Lord, I love you, but then I should hear the Lord saying to me -- if you truly love me, then take care of my sheep, if you truly love me, then take care of others, especially those who need your help. If you truly love God, then prove it.
