Jesus said that: “whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and that of the Gospel will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole worldand forfeit his life?” We are all very concerned about our future and the future of our loved ones here on earth. We put in much time and energy to secure that future, by saving money, by choosing a retirement plan, by having good insurance and so on. Nothing wrong with that. People deserve a secure and stable future. But today Jesus is asking you: but what do you do to secure your place in heaven? Do you even think about the life that is coming after this one, after you die here? We can’t save our life here on earth; we will all die sooner or later. That’s why Jesus reminds us that we must use the time we have right now and right here to save our eternal life.
