“Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.’” From all the people in this world, God chose her - Mary - to become the Mother of His Son. Such a great honor and privilege. We are thankful to her because, despite her doubts, she said YES to God. God had a special plan for Mary, but He also has a special plan for each one of us. We too, just like Mary, are called to bring God into our world, and we too are called to become saints. Sometimes we look at Mary thinking how great a person she is, since she accepted God’s plan for her life. But we often forget that we too are called to do great things in our own ways. We too are handmaids of the Lord, and we should follow His will in our lives.
