Yesterday, on Thanksgiving Day, we reflected on the importance of being thankful for what we have. Today, we are invited to show our gratitude for our churches -- the places of prayer and worship. How often we take this for granted, and we forget that there are people in this world that have no access to the church, to the Holy Eucharist, and to a priest. There are people that are persecuted for practicing their faith or may be even killed for being baptized. In the gospel reading today, Jesus drove out those who were selling things in the holy temple. He said to them that - It is written, “My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.” By doing this Jesus reminds us today that when we enter our church, we should be respectful, He reminds us that we must support our church, and most importantly to be thankful for our place of prayer and worship.
