Those people who don’t believe may also ridicule you for your faith. They ridiculed Jesus when He asked them to trust and have faith in Him, to have faith that He had the power to bring the dead to life. We read today that they ridiculed Jesus when He said that the girl who just died was only asleep, and He would awaken her. We too will be ridiculed by others for our faith in Jesus. We will be ridiculed and questioned when we seek God’s help in the most difficult moments of our lives. We will be ridiculed when we keep praying and never give up even when everything seems to fall apart. They ridiculed Jesus, they will ridicule us. But in the end, their laughter turned into awe and belief.
