“Jesus said to the crowd: ‘No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.’” When I read this, I think about all those wonderful saints who gave a bright light to Christianity and to others. See, many bad and sinful things are happening in our church, and those are the things that turn others away from us. But at the same time, we have all those wonderful people who gave and are still giving a good example of living according to Jesus’s principles. Those are the people that bring the bright light that Jesus is talking about. But we are also called to be that lamp placed on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
