“Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, ‘We have found the Messiah,’ which is translated Christ. Then he brought him to Jesus.” What a beautiful story! I always wonder what would have happened if Andrew never told Simon Peter about Jesus Christ, if Andrew kept His faith only to himself. Perhaps the church would never have discovered one of the greatest saints and apostles of all time. It was only because Andrew wanted to share his faith – the result: Simon Peter became the one whom Jesus entrusted His church to on earth. One small gesture, one small proposal - let me introduce you to the Messiah - and Simon Peter became the main apostle of Jesus. Today we learn that we don’t have to do much to bring others to Christ. Perhaps, it can start with a small invitation - why don’t you go with me to Sunday mass, why don’t you join me in our bible study this week? Don’t worry if they refuse to come with you, but rather think about Andrew who changed Simon’s life forever, only because he shared his faith with him. You may do the same.
