Saturday of the Twenty Fifth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

We read today that the disciples of Jesus “were all amazed at his every deed” They were in awe, they rejoiced and wanted to be with the Lord. However, the Lord warns them that it will not always be like that, that one day He will leave them -- “The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.” Jesus is preparing His disciples for those terrible moments of His passion and death but also for their martyrdom and rejection because of Christ. We all know that it is much easier to keep a strong faith when everything in life goes well -- when we and our family are safe, healthy, have food on the table and a place to live. However, when the moments of struggle and difficulty hit us, then we may ask: where is God? Some even lose their faith. This is why Jesus is preparing His apostles and us too. There are moments of amazement, joy, and happiness, but remember that times of suffering may come your way too. So, keep praying for an increase of your faith.
