Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord

Lk 1:26-38

We have a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and so we should. She became Mother of our God. Because of Mary’s YES, we all became Children of God. She gave us Jesus, she gave us faith, she gave us joy. Mary did have questions and she did have doubts, but she was able to say: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” The question now is -- are you able to say that to God? And no, we can’t become mothers nor fathers of Jesus in the sense that Mary was. However, we are also asked to bring Jesus to others, to our families, friends, places of work, our schools. We all are called to give Jesus to this world. Are you ready? Are you able to say YES?
