We only have four gospels, and if you come to church regularly you noticed that all those gospel reading are repeated. You are well familiar with all of them. I too have read them many times, preached about them, and meditated on them. I must tell you that most of the time, I do find in Jesus’ parables, stories, and in His life something new, something that amazes me. We all get distracted at times during mass and during our prayers. Sometimes we think that there is nothing else that could surprise us with Jesus’ words, but this is not true. I believe that if we ask the Holy Spirit to open our hearts to Jesus’ teachings, we will always find something new, something that would amaze us. “And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.”
