Thursday of the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

“Some Pharisees came to Jesus and said, ‘Go away, leave this area because Herod wants to kill you.’” What Jesus replied must have shocked them all. Jesus assured them that not only He can’t be killed, but He came to protect His people. I think it is so important for us today to always remember about this, and in times of trouble turn to Jesus. In many different ways, our society today will try to wipe away or to remove God from this world, but this is simply impossible. Even if they kill the name of Jesus by erasing it from our schools and putting away the crucifixes, they still will not be able to remove God, because He is in this world. He created it; this world belongs to Him. God is always here to protect us.
