Tuesday of the Third Week of Advent ‘c’

Today’s long gospel reading about the genealogy of Jesus Christ gives a vivid proof that our God has a divine nature. He is God but at the same time He was Human like us. And we may wonder why our Heavenly Father chose a human body for His Son. And I think I know why. I think God wanted to experience exactly what we experience in this life, so He could be as close to us as possible. Think about it this way: think about some other religions that worship an imaginary god. Their gods have no connection with humanity; they are out of this world. But our God became human, so we can no longer say - God doesn’t understand me, God never experienced what I must go through in this life, God does not know what it is to be human and what it means to be sad, to cry, to feel pain, to die. We can’t say that, because our God chose to be just like us with all our vulnerabilities. So when you pray to Him, He knows exactly what you experience, because He once experienced just the same.
