Holy Communion -- how often do you receive it? How often do you come to Mass to eat the Bread from Heaven that will give you life forever? If people truly believed that we have this food that provides us with a happy life that never ends, they would be lining up in front of the church to receive it as often as they could. We want to take care of our bodies; we want to be healthy and strong. That’s why we invest in healthy food, which is great. Yet our body will eventually die, no matter what we do. But Jesus offers us the food that will keep our soul beautiful and healthy and keep our soul alive always. Jesus said: “the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. So they said to Jesus, ‘Sir, give us this bread always.’ Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.’” They asked for that bread and Jesus gave it to them. In the same way Jesus is offering us this same bread from heaven today. Are you hungry for that food?
