I am not perfect, and no one is. We all make mistakes; we say or do things that may hurt others, and that’s why we need to keep talking to each other. However, every so often someone stops talking to you, or ignores you, and you don’t know why. It has happened to me many times. All of a sudden, one of the parishioners, who had always been very friendly, now keeps avoiding me, does not talk to me. Situations like this create confusion, and sometimes we wonder what we have done to deserve that. Jesus wants us to be transparent, to talk to each other, to correct one another, and not to avoid or pretend that nothing happened. “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.” Sometimes we may not even be aware that we have hurt someone; that’s why we need to talk.
