Jesus said: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.” Jesus speaks here about His disciples. They were very simple men, without much education, without any power, some were only simple fishermen. In some sense, they were like children. Sometimes when you hear the dialogue between Jesus and His disciples, you may laugh how infantile they were. Yes, they had great trust in their Master, even to the point that they sacrificed their lives for Him and for their faith. We may wrongly think that the most important things of our faith are revealed only to great saints, doctors of the church, theologians, popes, bishops, religious, deacons, or priests. Most of those people indeed received some extra knowledge by studying and teaching theology. But today Jesus praises God for all of us simple people, those who may not have received a higher education, who may not have any high positions, but are simple and humble people. We are the people Jesus came to reveal to us the Love of God.
