Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent ‘c’

We all have made certain decisions from an impulse that we have later regretted. I know that I have. Maybe it was anger or some other emotion, or maybe even from lack of time. Some of those bad decisions that we have made, may have had a very small impact. But there are also those that maybe even changed the course of our life. Today we read about St. Joseph who wanted to quietly divorce his wife Mary. He must have been very angry and did not understand that whole situation. Most of us would probably act in a similar way. If Joseph followed his instinct and divorced his wife, he would have made the worst decision of his life. Maybe we would not even know about him today. But Joseph was a patient man, a man of prayer, and a very humble man. Before he made any quick decisions, he turned to God, he prayed, and he listen. And because of that, Joseph became the greatest saint we have. Joseph became the earthly father of Jesus. We all should learn from this man, that whenever we face an important decision in life, we should turn to God and ask Him for guidance, ask Him also for a patience.
