Wednesday of the Thirty Second Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

I like today’s gospel reading. Next time you will hear it will be Thanksgiving Day. The reason is this story from the gospel today reminds us to be thankful - Jesus reminds us to be thankful. There is a temptation to think that we are entitled to certain things. However, all we have received is from God. He created us according to His image, and whatever we gain in this life it is always a gift from God. Some people get angry at God since they didn’t receive what they asked for. But they often forget to thank Him for what they have. Perhaps your life is not perfect; maybe you struggle with illness, unemployment, death of a loved one. Yes, life can get very challenging, but still - there is always something we should be thankful for from our God. “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” The ten were praying for healing, and they received what they asked for. But only one expressed his gratitude.
