Wednesday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” And He may come right now, or tomorrow, or maybe many years from now! Wouldn’t it be nice to know? Then for sure we would prepare ourselves well for that moment. Just like for those guests that you invited to dinner at your house, you know how much time you have before their arrival. But this is not how it will be with the coming of the Messiah. He doesn’t want you to make your preparation at the last moment. He wants you to live your life as if you always expected Christ to come. No, we don’t know how much time we have left, and we shouldn’t worry about that. We should rather make our preparation right now -- today, not tomorrow or next week, because “for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”
