When we die, everything we have, we own, we have collected is all left behind. We can’t take anything with us, except one thing -- the good we have done in this world. Today Jesus tells His disciples that they are blessed when they experience hardship in this life because of Jesus’ name. And then He warns those who are rich and powerful but who rely only on material goods. Nothing wrong with being rich and powerful. However, if a person is greedy and selfish, unable to help or share with those who are in need, to those Jesus says “woe to you!” Whatever good we have done here in this world, whatever we shared with those in need, God will reward us for it, because “blessed are you.”
